The worn bore of this Niagara gear was properly welded and stress relieved in preparation to install with a keyless force taper locking device (Ringfeder).
Excessive wear to the pitman bearing allowed for damage to this pitman.
The damaged area was filled using brazing bronze and it is now ready to be re-machined.
The cylinder wall of the overload for a 2000 Ton Danly was fractured by excessive pressure.
As shown the cylinder was repaired by removing the fractured section and welding on a new 12" thick steel burnout.
The bottom of this 2000 Ton Clearing ram was fractured.
The old bottom was removed and replaced with a much heavier plate of steel. Two internal support walls were also thickened to better withstand the load on the center of the bottom plate.
